MY CURRENT ROLE
As the president of a tech manufacturing company in the transportation safety field, I work with developers everyday to bring new capabilities to the road marking industry. I also oversee operations and financial teams. I enjoy being a direct contributor and interfacing with customers, so I try to balance my workload between providing resources to functional teams and working on projects.
MY STORY
I grew up as a technophile with the mountains in my backyard. It was extraordinarily uneventful yet invaluable. Having the best of both worlds, I learned how to build PC’s and websites but I can also work on houses and cars. Those experiences gave me the confidence to view just about any project as surmountable. I love the challenge of learning something new or breaking down a problem.
Throughout college, I fought fire to pay for my education. Fighting fire was exciting, but there was also a kinship to firefighting I hadn’t experienced before. It’s where I truly started to understand the value of trust within a team.
My entrepreneurial spirit eventually led me to start my own business. I purchased and reinvented a small, healthy rice bowl restaurant and ran it for 3 years. The most valuable thing I learned was that payroll is not just a financial liability, but also a personal one. Having the right people in the right seats is the single most important thing we can do as managers.
Since 2014, I've found myself in a lovable company that I have led to quadruple in size. From M&A to creating a SaaS platform to international expansion, it's hard to even document our accomplishments in a short time. It has been incredibly exhilarating, but now I find myself looking for new challenges outside of this industry.
PERSONAL NOTE
I have love bringing products to market, having launched several products of my own design. I am often the defacto product owner for Agile Epics. I connect the dots effortlessly and understand concepts quickly. I’m appreciated as an empowering team leader. Out of personal interest I would have a preference to work for environmentally conscious companies.
